Speaking of road safety .. this is my favourite high horse to climb on and flog to death.

Here's the VicRoads YouTube channel:
http://www.youtube.com/user/vicroads

Here's an example of the effort they go to educated drivers and explain what the dangers are:
http://www.youtube.com/user/vicroads.../2/STEQCvTWm0g

Here's a compilation of their TAC TV commercials:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2mf8DtWWd8

The real focus is on cause and effect, they show the harsh reality of drink driving, not paying attention behind the wheel etc.

W.A. adds mostly tend to focus on getting caught, they should focus on the much more important consequence;you could kill someone or leave them disabled.

WA drink driving commercial:

Victoria's drink driving commercial:

Now just hold on a sec...your saying that Vic roads is spending money to save lives?!? Good god! They've really got things backwards over there...here in WA we spend money to make money. Think of all the multanovas they could have bought for the cost of producing that truck roll over video(i doubt even one), multanovas which just MIGHT save A life, but will at least make a hell of a lotta profit in the meantime. That video is gonna save plenty of lives, free up the time of emergency services by needing to attend fewer truck roll over accidents, reduce road congestion as a result of fewer truck roll overs, and so on and so forth...now why on earth would WA powers that be want to invest in anything of the sort?!?

/tongue in cheek rant

Im with you on this one, i am a p-plater who went from a lancer GLI, which I had for 1 year to a WRX which i now own, and i understand your point of view and completely agree that as well as catching the hoons with p-plates, there should be incentives that benefit the decent p-platers who know that they can have fun in their car, but there is a time and a place...mate of mine, R33 skyline, into a tree, written off. He had his p-plates for 4 months, he was trying to get sideways and impress some chicks. Its just not worth it, and p-platers should be taught how to drive properly.

No... When someone hits a tree trying to impress the chicks its NOT
that they got taught incorrectly... its that they did something stupid
and have to take responsibility for their own actions.

There are HEAPS of p-platers that don't do stupid things... that shows
that they ARE being taught how to drive properly. Its just the morons
out there that do dumb things.

remember the car cant do anything... its the driver who is controlling the car / situation.
they fuck up. their responsibility. end of story.

if i crash, i accept the responsibility.

Difference is ( idiotic) P Platers make the decision to do dumb shit in the wrong places.
Expericence & Training is Key too all this bullshit.

With Training Comes Knowledge. With Knowledge Comes Experience. With Experience You Can Use Training/ Knowledge To Make Decisions.

Manufactures contingent liability account would STRONGLY disagree with you, and I would to.
