Before the flamers start - just stating his opinion - not necessarily mine!

Thought provoking though.
I'd love to take Sean to the Casino then!! He must be the luckiest son of a gun going around!!!

But seriously, every input the tuner makes, he/she knows EXACTLY what the result will be and what else needs to be done to make that change both worthwhile and maximiaed.

Does he even know what CAN is or how it works?

Being at Subaru for a long time does mean you know alot about it

Good thing the WRC guys run a stock tune and not a Pectel... Don't want to mess with those settings!

wouldn't this be all tuned out anyway under a custom ie verso tune??
Ecutek doesn't come with onboard internet, so there is no way for these magical updates to find their way to your car either. (I can do it on my MoTeC tho fyi :P ) EcuTek and Verso do essentially the same thing, change paramaters on the stock ECU to increase/decrease the air fuel ratio and timing. They are 2 different types of software that do the same job.

personnally i think all this software "stuff" is the same its just down to the installer and tuner...
Correct, they are merely means of tuning the ECU, the tuner himself's ability and knowledge and the model of dyno s/he is using makes more of an impact than the software itself

Im needing a tune and can't decide btw!

you hear about bad stories from both but there seems to be more blown engines with verso tho...... - whether anything to do with the tune or not!

Not a single engine has blow up while being managed by a Verso tune in WA, i definately can't say the same for EcuTek

wow quick posts!

thanks guys for the replys

as for the verso is ecutek comment:

it was told to me today from a dealer and yes a ecutek one at that......
i do however don't really care or doubt it as software is software.....

Is someone 100% ie Sean going to completely ground up going to write new software when you can download from the net an "older hacked version of ecutek" ...... just some thoughts... as i don't know sean but doubt he's a software engineer.......

I personally don't have proof of anything....
As you can imagine its just really hard to know what to do first time around and who to believe.... with so much crap about

Personnally i think ASG are a bit to gung ho with the high tunes on std td04 but that aside should be fine.

The comment was again coming from the same dealer re a verso car a few weeks ago blown going around the track - he even offered to give me his number so i could call him re not going with verso.......... sigh

And btw im no p-plater idiot/noob either..... a mature dude that wants the best for his loved car!

Lol, tell this EcuCrap dealer that you'll keep your near on $2k and go see Sean for half of that.

I'll eat my own ass if you have any issues as a result of Verso.

LOL Sean is the tuner not the verso software designer.
Sean is also not in the business of blowing up customers engines and if you discuss it with him before the tune then I am sure you will get a nice safe tune that leaves you with a bloody big smile on your dial.

1. Sean is just the tuner at ASG using the tools, there are other people who deal with the software side of things.

2. Who is saying it is old/copied/whatever software? Lots of people say this, yet no one is willing to say who is giving this information out.

3. Who blew a motor going around a track? If it was Jaron he was running Motec anyway...
