I can run whatever sized intake I like with the PFC too...Just set it up as a blow-through system.....
See the maf? Just before the heat proof lagging starts.... Another blow through.....Just in case you thought it was rare...... The MAF can be placed anywhere between the air filter & the throttlebody.....Placement makes no difference. PFC can run any 0-5v maf & has an interpolated 32 point user adjustable MAF/airflow curve.

Are all those pics just for example? They're all GD series. If you remove the AFM you remove one more point of failure, remove the need to tune for reversion, improve throttle response, off idle and transitions.
I said before Rossco, I'm not bagging PFC's, their just old. An Air Flow Meter is a complicated electronic circuit, if its even a little bit off, or coated with oil, it affects the way the engine runs. A MAP sensor is simple, and manifold vacuum is just that, vacuum.

Yep, just for examples of different MAF placement.
All the current crop of super cars use MAF's so you must know something Ferrari,Aston, Maserati, Lamborghini & Audi don't.......Maybe it's just that MAF's are more accurate than MAP.... But meh, what would they know....Maybe they should just throw map sensor's on their cars & save some build costs?

The old MAF vs MAP argument. Both have advantages and disadvantages.
MAF is good because it accounts for changes in VE. Put a higher flowing exhaust on and it won't lean out like a MAP based ECU. This could be the reason car manufacturers use MAF sensors, because every car would be slightly different and they need them all to pass emissions. MAF has it's disadvantages also, when you want to make a lot of power you need to run a larger housing and you eventually lose low flow resolution and get driveability issues. If an air leak develops between your MAF sensor and throttle body your AFRs get screwed. It will go mega rich if post turbo or lean out and kill your motor if pre turbo. MAP setups eliminate all the disadvantages of the MAF based ECU. But the tune needs to be spot on for that particular engine and if you make any change to the engines VE by changing exhausts or intakes you need to retune the ECU to get the fuelling back where it needs to be.

Sorry "VE" is?

Volumetric efficiency of an engine. Motec and Vi-pec uses VE as the calculation for the afr mapping.

And you do not need to run a MAF for VE to work.
