207 to a 2.2 if your ken, go down a turbo size, get some response and reliability back.

Sorry to see the donk looking like that, but its the game you play when your chasing massive numbers.

I understand everyone saying "but it's nearly there, don't give up now", but it's not their money financing the build. It must be bloody heart breaking mate to think you're nearly at the end and the goal posts get moved back AGAIN.

I can see why you're over it all. At the end of the day if you're thinking you'll just sell it as soon as its mobile again, go down the least expensive route and offload it, because everyone knows you don't get your money back on modified cars... ask Wai!

If you're going to keep it, what sort of sponsorship are we talking? Starting my new business in the coming weeks and may be interested to raise exposure.

Josh

Your heads will bolt onto a ej22 block. But finding a OEM Ej22 close deck turbo block is a pain. Easier to start with a Close Deck Ej20G found in RS Libertys.

RS Liberty 2L Close Deck block. Bore and Sleeve to suit 2.5L. Machine to suit late model crank. Machine to suit 14mm head studs. Stick your current crank, rods and pistons in.

And yeah, your heads are gone. I wouldnt bother trying to repair those. Welding up the holes mean they'll never be as strong and I wouldnt be surprised if there was warping or cracking with the amount of heat and pressure that blew past the gaskets.

Bitch Slap the dude that sold you the block telling you they were 14mm head studs. It wont fix anything but it will make you feel better.

best thing to do tine, buy a complete standard late model engine (like we talked about yesterday) put that in and drive the car and actually get some enjoyment out of it and then as funds and emotions dictate build the kila engine on the side, even if it takes another year or two. nothing worse than holding out for something time and time again when it was already almost there!

or option b or c or z.....

shit place to be right now i know but i believe you can't just walk away from it, that doesn't show character, that's weakness. so chin up learn and live to fight another day!!

Do that.

Go to JWS, get a complete STi long motor.. Put it in, GT30R swapover, and ENJOY.

Put your GT40R in the shed, and build a Cosworth 2.5 long motor with heads, crank and everything in between... plus dry sump.

Do it as you can afford it, then drop it in later

Sell your original pistons, rod and crank to recoup some funds.

best advice yet. It must be frustrating that the car keeps having hiccups, but it would be even worse not enjoying it at all.

Really sorry to hear Tino!

As people have said, put in a cheapish replacement so you can enjoy the car for a while and build the big motor on the side! At least then you can get some seat time in the car which will hopefully remind you of why its worth going through all this puss and pain!

I see what you're all saying, but I can also understand where tino is coming from.

He has to have a serious think about whether he'll look back and be pissed that he spent all the extra money to go down the road Ramon is suggesting. If the satisfaction of finishing it is more important to him than retaining the money that will need to be spent, then do it.

But if he has any doubt, fix it the cheapest way possible and offload the car. At the end of the day, where do you stop!?
