Considering that each runner is only 450mm to the turbo flange it should be alot lower. The IC pipe to the turbo will be shorter again. I'm hoping we can now make 25psi by around 3500-4000 rpm. If this works out this will be a very responsive setup. Sump is still staying the same for now. There's a dry sump in the works in the UK but not in production yet. But my crank etc has been modified for better oil flow in any case. The headers and dump will be ceramic coated to keep the heat away from the sump. I will also be making a bash plate to protect the turbo and air filter from dirt and rain.

this is the part that interests me with the new Lib set up, how much crap is the turbo going to be covered in after a few kms and what happens if you bottom out a bit?

Dave I think some sort of plate is a must. The Subaru headers are made of vet thin walled material so being knocked around can damage it. On a normal ride height it shouldn't be an issue but not many ppl keep it at that height.
My headers are very thick walled s/s tube so it would take a lot to ding them. It also retains the heat in the headers much better than thin walled pipe. My turbo will sit fairly low so I'm takining the extra precatuion with the tray. The turbo is near the line of the front wheels so there will be extra clearance there also.

I'm still trying to picture in my head where that turbo will sit.. will it sit behind the sump, or in front?
I didn't think there was any room there. Nic from ASG made a similar setup a while back, but it required a custom sump with a cut-out, so the turbo could sit behind it. |
