But Coops u do put a valid point..i thought about boot location as it is easily accessible for all of what u said, so may go that way, having it behind the number plate would be so cool old skool stylz but i know that it just wont work..

Fuel tank position and making changes to it would be a licencing nightmare. I reckon bring the filler neck right up to the boot lid and have a fixed section as part of the boot. Would look great and you could work off the existing filler neck. Would be a bespoke arrangement and the costs to do so would be as expected 'pioneering'.

what about putting the fuel filler behind one of the rear tail lights with the light housing itself on a hinge with solenoid locks so you can access it.
Its a bit "fully hektik bro" but it would work.

Only a small observation and correct me if im wrong. Fuel vapor and live electricity never mix. I know the circuits are dead but potential for a big bang would be rather large if it were behind tail lights. I think the incorperating it into the boot would be awesome and you could flush fit it too.

wouldnt it be easier to have it coming through the wheel arch, so when you open the rear door you can get access to it? seems like the easiest solution to me!

Remove motor, replace with this. No need for fuel filler at all!

The kit factory fits over the existing flap with its own, I'm assuming Tino's going for a flush even finish on both sides whilst trying to avoid issues with having the widebody petrol flap where it is (from panel flex).
