Best to buy genuine.

bit of a update..

car is @ the workshop getting a few things sorted...

Car was absolutely running like shit, in the end it turned out to be a faulty AFM. Good news!

Bad news... (history: I got my car compression tested 2 years ago, after a fateful run at kwinana with a bosch 044 pump that was installed with the barbed fitting still on... the result.. maximum boost with the fp-green and hardly any fuel..)

Back then... (psi)
cyl 1: 110
cyl 2: 118
cyl 3: 115
cyl 4: 120

this time around

Cyl 1: 100
Cyl 2: 105
Cyl 3: 105
Cyl 4: 110

LOLLLL

Strange thing is... car doesnt eat oil. Car blows no smoke what-so-ever, runs very well with a slight hesitation at idle sometimes. So it looks like a new 207 short motor is on the cards, just sucks I cant get one soon.

I plan to hopefully still pickup a 207 incl gaskets etc for $3500 while I still can - and possibly do some work on the heads while they are out, mayb a slight camshaft upgrade aswell.

So that means i'l be leaving the engine as is as there's no point fitting the autronic on in its very tired state.
In the meantime the headers and driveshaft are still getting put on, along with a complete service incl new belts.

ahhhh me 207... she's a fighter..

why would you bother putting new belts on if you're replacing the engine?

Why not just replace pistons and rings and sleeve your block?
