Default wrx model unknown

gday people

im really having problems trying to find out what my wrx is

its a 1998 wrx with a ej205nwikd
but the model number is gc8gk8d
transmission ty754vn1aa
i just wanna know what it is

Ummm... I think by looking at the car he can tell that.
What he is after is if it is MY99/00 or earlier.

Pics of interior and engine bay would make it a bit easier,
but given the first part of the VIN some guru on here will
be able to tell you exactly.

well what i want to know is if it is a jap inport or uk import because if i put that model number in google it come up with rb5 but it not well i dont think
but it seems faster that usual standard wrx
interior is red blue back
vin is jf1gc8kd3xg035337

UK has different vin system to rest of world market (Model Year letter run to 8th month of year in the UK) so disregard uk based decodes.

It's a Sept99 -Aug00 GC8 4 door

ty754vn1aa WRX 5 Speed 99/00 3.9 rear diff

Engine ej205nwikd (actually ej205nx1kd) 160Kw
STi type intercooler but with plastic y-pipe
turbo: TD04L
rear diff: R160
Brakes: 4 spot front, single rear (same as V5-V6 sti)

If it's 10'th 11'th or 12'th month of 98 then it's an MY99 so has all the features of the 99/00 models.

It's a Gc8G -> 'G' meaning 9/99-00 MY00

My STi is a Gc8gkdg built 12/99
