What regular WRX parts might they use over the equivalent STi parts?

Guards?? They're the same..

Radiator support? Same!

Headlights and grille? Same!

Bonnet, bumper and anything else damaged that is STi specific will be replaced with STi specific parts, as that is the vehicle insured!
Exactly what I was getting at I'm glad someone else picked that up!

Me. 10 years ago SGIO wrote off my Celica because the rails were slightly pushed to one side after I t-boned a car that ran a red light.

I offered to buy the wreck back (it was over-insured as it was in good condition and low km's), but they made me bid for the wreck at Pickles Auctions

The majority of the cost was eaten up by a front cut and putting the car on a jig to straighten the rails.

STI 117 - my concern at the moment would be whether or not Just Cars will let you purchase the wreck back, or if they send it straight to an auctioneer. If the latter, you could end up bidding against some unscrupulous pricks and blow your budget very easily

From the image supplied, this is where I've placed my main area of concern. Whether this has bowed due to the rail or the gap in-between the bolts is a different story.

Also +1 to Craigs' comment regarding getting caught up in the moment with bidding on vehicles. I've seen some real bunkies go for ridiculous prices, only to watch the face of the winning bidder drop 10 fold after realising how much they just overpaid.

there's a chance that the floor may be rippled from hitting the end of the rail.

I hope they get it fixed as it's an awesome car but if they write it off
(repairable write off) and they give you a buy back option but you don't
want it, can you please let me know how much they want as I may take
it for a project car.

It's definately repairable, probably not for the insurance company though.
It will certainly have a bent RH rail if not both. They bend with a much smaller impact than that. Bent rails isn't the end of the world, although some people will tell you so.
They can be straightened, they can be replaced and there's nothing wrong with doing so if done properly. Plenty of race and rally cars have had new rails in them.
If you buy back the wreck, source your own parts and organise your own panel beater to repair it you will come out way ahead.
There may be engine damage as well, it's not uncommon in a frontal like that.

Agreed with all above and also possibilities of gearbox damage.
