thanks again guys for your supportive posts. Wow i never knew they used second hand parts, i probably should of read my policy a little more carefully.i guess all i can do is wait and see what the damage assessor says next week, fingers crossed for a good outcome. lol as for the wheels i have no idea what other models they'll fit, it's not something too high on my list of concerns right now, I'm not even sure if i can get them back if the cars a write off as they were included on my insurance, but will let you know

Dude, they gotta find 'em first! An' if there's no joy in sourcing 2nds, then new bits can be their only other option? Not that many STi V6 parts out there in wrecking land.

Good you walked away from this... All the best

Sorry to say but they will just use regular wrx parts as they
are exactly the same as what's damaged on the front with the
exception of the foglight covers and V6 Lip.

Who cares - its a decade old Subaru - as long as its repaired right and painted to match, it could be Stalin's old bonnet and lights.

Nobody really they are just general comments about what Just Cars do
when repairing cars, this is one of the main reasons I swapped to Shannons.

Actually the people that may be thinking of signing up with JustCars who
read this thread might be interested and would care.

What they wont tell you is if aftermarket body panels are available they will make you use them as well

The use of second hand and aftermarket parts is common across all insurance companies 'not just, Just Car', let alone the assessors that try and knock as much repair time off the quotes as possible 'I've seen jobs lost for extremely immaterial differences in price'.

If anyone ever gets bored one day and wants to price the market on repairs, take a comparable cross section of different sized panel shops 'both within the recommended repairers list and 'out side of', and you'll see or worse think how the fuck are these guys going to be able to undertake a quality repair compared to quotes that are excess $1,000+ more.

That's why you get a policy that states you have the right to
choose your own repairer, so that you can get one you know
and trust and not have to worry about the insurance co choosing
the cheapest option!

Also it gives you the opportunity to check the parts order yourself
to see they come direct from Subaru to keep them in check as I've
done before.

Anyway enough of us whoring this thread.

fwiw the only reason i'm with just car is because no one else i tried would insure this type of car, even though ,until now, i had a clean record. i must of tried 6 or 7 insurers before i came across 'just car' who said ' we can insure you no problems', maybe it's partly because of my age,m i'm 24 (under 25) but no one wanted to insure this car,
