I've got an 01 WRX sedan and we just had our first bub 3 months ago, with the rearward facing baby seat it really is a tight fit in the front. Also with the pram in the boot there is bugger all space for groceries etc. I would look at a GT Lib wagon or an XT Foz.

My missus has a 99 WRX, thats even worse.

My two cents on the subject based on having owned a MY06 WRX STI, a MY07 Liberty GT Spec B and currently a MY10 Foz XTP. My son is 2 years old.

The Forester wins hands down for ease of loading and unloading kids stuff or long items. The back seats both fold down with a touch of a button at the rear. There is way more headroom in the Foz and that makes a big difference when loading and unloading you child in the car seat.

My son happens to like a firm ride and a bit of boxer rumble. If we have trouble getting him to take his regular nap then we resort to driving him around the block in the Foz.

Parts are interchangeable with WRX / STI which makes modding fun as well...if you are so inclined.

good hunting and good luck with the new family member

my gf8 was good enough for the 3 of us once you remove all that shit in the back, you will have heaps of space like i do. However, looks like you want a newer car, just commenting anyway

I have an 07 STi,, wife has a 05 Forester. For bub duties Forester wins absolutely hands down. For us personally, the STi doesn't even get a look in.

However, our 16 month old boy LOVES Daddy's car and shouts 'brrrrm brrrrm' when he hears me coming home from work. He has to sit in the car as I reverse it into the garage.

Thats my boy

If I were to just have the one car, it would be an XT Forester.

Cheers
Zombee

So going to just get a normal wrx and sort out the mrs if need something bigger.

Looking at dealers ATM as might try get a good deal with a changeover with my current car.

What you guys think, Been looking at 2 05's. A club spec 8 with 109000kms, tbe, stereo and a few other bits for $22000 odd or a standard wrx unmodified with 71000kms for about $23000.

Only thing is think I will be able to negotiate a bit more on the club spec than the standard wrx. Want to mod with tbe etc too.

Standard has prob been looked after better though. will need to look forward to timing belt service still :-)
