I have stock td04, down and mid pipe and Cossworth panel filter and I'm pushing 212hp and 305nm. I suggest you better check with your tuner why you are pushing so low figures with a VF34

Steve....if I had 35k I would be in that car happy to offer whatever my car is worth plus some naval lint and a few favours but other than that I'm not in the position to buy (unreal bargain tho).

Haha cheers for all your help with regards the pm's Matt, if I had known back 2-3yrs ago what I know now I woulda saved a bit more and got a peanut STi.

Kato when you say dont be shy of big boost what figures are you talking? Ive read jesters fancy new performance thread and i see one or two guys are running (from memory) almost 25psi but what would be "safe" and still provide me with more response on an engine that's done 103000kms?

Sethi3 that's exactly why I'm asking for advice/some pointing in the right direction. Not to be power hungry but I was actually expecting/hoping for around 200kw and 360ish nm

managed to dig up my dyno sheet and there is a massive difference between bird's graph and mine. can anyone point me in the right direction as to why my power comes on so slowly? (i understand that every car is unique and power outputs cant simply be reproduced in different cars with the same mods but whats going on)

What model year is your car? Someone here will know if it came with AVCS, that will greatly affect spool?

What is a VF34/hybrid turbo?

MY02 STI and MY03 WRX were the first years AVCS was introduced. His car looks like an MY03

Another one for the gurus, does the 03 WRX have a catted up-pipe? And you mention you have a TBE, is it at least 3" with a high-flow cat?

As I see it, the cheapest/most effective mods for you at the moment for your goals are:

Better BCS - Mac or Grimspeed.
Replace up-pipe (if it's catted).
Buy a stonger actuator/do Tuna special actuator mod.

Its the (MY04) Petter Solberg Limited Ed Wrx (the limitedness of my car alone should have brought it up to 1000hp )

I will clarify as soon as I find out but basically I was under the impression I had a vf34 fitted. Spikey called it s a "hybrid" turbo because it had a larger something or other (compression wheel or housing perhaps? either way it was a serious rookie error in not paying attention)

Cheers Jester, I have looked into it. I'll speak with Sean @ ASG and if it helps me I will have one put in either for its major service or with the retune.

Cheers Owen, its an ultrex 3" tbe - pretty sure I dont have a high flow cat unless its apart of the ultrex design. As for the last 3 items I'll take a look at them all. cheers for the pointers

ps whats involved in changing AVCS?

AVCS will be tuned by your tuner. Nothing to change by you.

Your torque is 1000rpm too late. Talk to ASG to see if they can diagnose why this is the case. Something is a limiting factor. Could be simple like mac/3port.

I'm guessing the 'hybrid' turbo is a VF34 with a P20 housing. Should make a lot more power that it is.

Here's one of my old graphs MY05 WRX, STi TMIC, VF34, Panel filter, 3-port, Decapped Injectors (816cc), Under $10 BOV mod, Xforce TBE, probably around 1.8bar boost (might be more, been a while)
