Fucking hell.
Pull up, clutch in, foot to floor, step off clutch, done. There is launch control which holds an rpm for you, that is meh. Real launch control will be connected to system (such as antilag) which builds boost for you. Big difference.

Rexxed ...it sounds awesome when you rev up your engine with launch control on...
Done heaps of track days and can launch my STi better than you think...that wasn't the point of this thread, it was to get an understanding of launch control, and found some good info from Doug, Dan, etc in there. Last edited by RJ999; 14-08-2013 at 12:21 PM. |

Hmmm what the fk is FlatFootShifting? sounds like Anti-lag to me.
Fk that thread - confusing as hell. I trust what Doug and the others say...Iwsti can get a bit too much as most of the american cars have modded the fuck out of their cars with Perrin/Grimspeed stuff...barely a subaru at all lol Quote:

Flat foot shifting is not taking your foot of the accelerator when you shift and a quick way to achieve a dok dok ...

Flat Foot Shifting allows you to keep the accelerator flat between shifts and maintain boost.

I figured that part out...but why does that have to be an ECU thing thats enabled together with LC....sounded like they we're talking about anti lag as thats how you drive with antilag on
Unless this function brings the revs down automatically for you so you shift? or balance the rev/clutch for you? doesnt sound right that this has to be enabled with LC on... |

Half right. FFS alows you to keep the foot flat but the clutch depression drops revs ever so slightly. Martin Donnin says its good for about 1-2 seconds a lap on a 3min track.

With Anilag you can lift right off the throttle change gear and then still have boost banked up ready so as soon as you touch the loud pedal you are ready to go.
FFS uses a similar function as LC between gear to keep the engine loaded and boosted. It is a form of ANTILAG... but not the real deal. Every second counts!
