this is bullshit, there has been like 3 posts or so with people under 25, younger then me (im 21) loss of licence/bad record etc with the rac paying roughly around the same as me. i have not lost my licence ever!!...my payment at the last renewal was 1400 with an 800 excess (i drive a my99 valued at 18k.. really worth more though), through the whole of 06 i got one fine of 150 and 3 points, i let them know of that one fine in the renewal in jan and they wanna cancel it!!!

how do you guys get the rac to insure you...at ages of 19/20 n so on with a loss of licence when i get one fine they wanna cancel mine!!! in the end after about 2 hrs of going off my head it got reinstated..but not without a $400 increase to $1800....thats back to what i was paying when i was 18!! load of shit i say.

"GENERALLY SPEAKING" Because some people get mommy and daddy to insure there car for them and use their NCB to discount the policy beyond what they should be entitled to. "GENERALLY SPEAKING" These are usually the people you see on Today Tonight moaning about the bastard insurance company wont pay my claim becaue I tried to defraud said company of a fair premium by insuring my car in mum and dads name.

Unfortunately this means the people who do the right thing feel the pinch of paying the correct price. Although I think we're getting much better at detecting this in the industry.

You can shop all insurance around, just keep in mind theres always "Coles Brand" insurance compared to "John West" out there. Might be cheaper but what will you get for your money when you really need it, Your pride and joy returned spotless, or some bastardisation made up of cheap parts and dodgey workmanship.

Just renewed my insurance today. Was with HBF, rang them to add my mods and they laughed at me!!! At least they will honour the policy till it expires next month...

Called just car and Shannons, ended up going with shannon's as the agreed value was a little higher and the premium a little lower. Main points:

1999 WRX

Agreed Value of $25k

Following Mods listed and/or covered:

Vf34
FMIC
Autronic
Pod Filter
BOV
Defi Gauges
zorst
Upgraded brakes (DBA 4ks, Braided lines)
Work Emotion 18's
Stezza (3k)

Age, 31, Max no claim bonus, Never made a claim, 1 speeding fine last 5 years

Premium $1,206 PA

Dont know what it is with Shannons everytime i call em its a different reason.

Last time i didnt have a lock up garage, this times Its cos i have too many mods.

So im left getting rooted by JCI who increased my premium by 75$ despite a good clean year.

Argh

Anyone seen the new Autosalon Magazine? Therz an advert for GIO insurance. They are now offering "Custom Car Insurance" similar to Shannons and Just Car. Might be worth the phone call for those in the market for insurance atm.

they dont do quotes online for modded cars, so left my details.

Ryno quoted me $50 less than just car.

Will see what GIO come up with.
