my Lib is insured with QBE for around $74p/m ( $900p/a ) @ $23,000 i think, or there abouts ), i'm 32 and had no bad record.
the G/f's XT Forester is insured with Cuna for around $63p/m ( $800p/a ) @ $25,000 or there abouts, she is currently 25 ( 26 this year ) with a clean record.

my VK is with QBE, they wouldn't do it for my old wrx as it was too new ( even though it was a '97 ). QBE only do it for certain vehicles. i don't know how much difference it made to the policy cost cause it's still around the $1200p/a mark to insure it.
