DPI doesn't record engine 'type' as in ej2x, they just record the engine number, number of cylinders & fuel type. i.e 4cyl, petrol.
The engine number tells you nothing either, like i said it's all in the vin# - Trust me I use Vin's all day everyday in my job. They break down into basically: country of manufacture- Chassis family- body type-number of doors-engine type-trans type-model variant & finally the actual production number. Regardless, the LTD GC's were the last of their breed with the same potential as the same year STI. Enjoy your car dude, because that's all it's really about!
