Obviously the guy couldn't drive and was revving the tits off his car. So the tuner recommended to drive normally

Quick question: When I test drove the car the guy I brought it of said not to engine brake the car as it had been tuned not to be able to do that. Is that possible? If so why aren't I aloud to? Or is there something else likely wrong with it? It makes a quite grinding noise when engine braking. Of it's the tune then I'm going straight to a good tuner to get that removed. Once again thanks for all the positive feedback most of you have given (:[/QUOTE]

Not normal to make a grinding noise.

Correct me if I'm wrong but just because an r33 has 430rwhp, that doesn't mean you'll need 450awhp to be quicker in your wrx.

Other factors are gear ratios, awd vs rwd tyres, etc etc. Just the fact that you have awd will mean you can more of your horses to the ground where it matters.

450HP is stupid in a daily.

Great car though. Please don't drive it like a knob. If you do plan on doing so, remove the Perth wrx stickerand attach a ROE or unforgotten one.

Cheers!

Ahh yes.

Rev matching like a race car driver isnt nessesary on a pubic road. You can do it but all braking should be done with the middle peddal.

here: http://www.perth-wrx.com/vb/your-dri...005-sti-~.html

The guy who owned this car spent A LOT of money getting it to 400hp with all the forged internals. If you want 400hp on a subaru this might be a good place to start understanding what it takes, will also give you a realistic idea of hp for the mods you have. He also mentioned that it spooled around 5k rpm which may not be what you want.

IMO you would be better going with rosco's opinion of sitting it at 300hp~ you would get the best of both worlds with a quick spool and plenty of punch.

Just come down thru the gears like 80% of the other drivers when coming to a stop and using the BRAKE'S to help you slow

Not using the habib style ie reving the engine then using the engine to slow you which others have said doing damage to motor/gearbox
