There is no such thing as 24 demerits.

Over 12 you lose your license. Any extras go onto your 'new' license when you get it back.

Lose 24+, expect to go to court.

As for technicallities of paperwork, see a lawyer. If you receive further documentation from them about the incident you will be paying the fine.

Don't run a red light then ? I've had my license since I was 17, I am now 21 and have never lost a demerit. I've had 3 fines but all within 10km/h over the speed limit

Cameras have a picture, and the info is written top and bottom of the image.
I guess the next question is, how do you attract so much attention to yourself to get pulled over twice in one day?

I haven't been stopped yet in my STi.

Also the idea you have of " ill get these guys on a technicality" to get out of the fact you were/were not speeding/breaking the law is shit. it will catch up with you if/when you drive like a knob & they will catch you in the act, see all the prior infrigements/charges and see your history and will be forthcoming with an appropriate charge/fine/suspension of licence.

i guess if you drive to attract attention, you might as well wave a red flag and hand in your licence now.

In regards to getting fined for running a red light, what if it's due to being caught up in traffic or such? On a few occasions I've been caught in the middle of an intersection and the light has turned red. No cameras were there so I haven't been fined. But it was due to either traffic suddenly stopping in front of me, or turning right and the traffic being banked up on the side street has caused me to be stuck in the middle. This happens a lot at the corner of Cedric Street and Ellen Stirling Boulevard, and also on Scarborough Beach Rd, as I work in the Osborne Park area.

Have always been worried I would get done. What is the penalty for that? If a camera was to get you, could you get out of it if traffic was the cause, or is there no excuse? If you can't see the traffic on the side street, and it suddenly banks up, there isn't much you can do about it.

You should not enter an intersection unless you can also exit the intersection (same goes for a roundabout).
Will you get a fine for it if there are 2 or 3 other cars in there with you, my guess is no, but i have no idea. But unless you have a clear exit to the roundabout or intersection, then don't enter it!

Also happens when you want to turn right at the traffic lights when there is no turning arrow. Do not enter the intersection (past the white line) unless you know you can exit it... Shits me no end when people do this, sit in the middle of the intersection, then the lights go amber.... people coming the other way keep coming and run the amber light, then you go (effectively running a red light).

Rant over.....

Yeah I know that, I always wait at the white line if I can clearly see the traffic banking up ahead, and it also annoys me when people don't. But on occasion it can suddenly stop in front of you, especially when turning right and you don't expect the traffic to be that far banked up. If the people aren't braking ahead of you, and you can't see around the corner, with a green arrow, you have to assume you're fine to go. Then all of a sudden everyone ahead slams on their brakes. Only happened a couple times, but I'm worried if it happened where there was a red light camera, would I get fined.

Happens everywhere in the Innaloo, Os Park area. I love stopping at the white line instead of gong into the middle of the intersection. Then giving people the finger when they beep at me telling me to move forward!

The triggers for the camera's are BEFORE the white line, so if you are mid intersection you wont get done anyhow.
