in all honesty, i have had a few different sets of tyres, and the re001 are the best tyre i have ever driven on. I have had rs2's (2 sets) Rt615 (1 set) federal 595 (1 set) and 535 (2 sets)
I am on my 3rd set of bridgestones and absolutely love them. the only problem is they get about 3 laps before they start to get greasy, though after that they stay the same (well up to 10 laps) You get what you pay for

Tirerack did tests for the top extreme performance street tyres and
RE70's came 7th, Ku36's came in 5th, Direzza Z1 came in 2nd and RE11 came in 1st. Results here: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...ireSearch=true I've been super keen to get the Z1's for awhile now but I got a deal on the KU36's that no man could refuse! One off price of $750del for KU36 in 235/40/18 from over east, they will be here in the next week and will be put on just in time for the winter weather. So I'll let people know how they hold up in a month or two after some different uses such as street wet/dry and track/pan. There has to be something good about these tyres because as soon as Kuhmo Aus gets stock they're basically out of stock straight away and have to wait months for more stock.

Has anyone used tirerack to get tyres into Australia? If so, how did you go with import duties and crap?
Goodyear Eagle F1 20/265's are $970 a tyre here, they are $330USD on tirerack, I have enquired about freight, still waiting to hear back from the guy but want to know if anybody has been smashed with import duty? |

Dan I believe Mat "Jester" got some things from them and was slapped
with import taxes etc as the items were marked over the $1000 value mark.

Cheers Mark, That's what I thought would happen as these items will be over $1200, what I want to know then is how much import duty was charged? If it was 100% then it is a complete waste of time using this mob. If it was a smaller percentage, then I am ordering!

could you maybe avoid the import taxes if they were 4 seperate purchases at different times?

Freight cost would then fuck you.

Individual shipping will no doubt cost more over all, also customs are not dumb.

Buying a pair a fortnight apart works and freight wasn't that much different. At that sort of saving it would be good value.
