Say what, $230 for 31's surely not as you can get 36's in 18's for less!!!

Does anyone else have issues with front tyres wearing heavily on the shoulders,
Mine are worn both inside and outside of both front tyres to a point that there is exposed canvas, but the center of each tyre has at least 6 mm of tread left.
This has happened with last two sets Ive ran on the front ( both Kumho ku31s 215/17/45 ).
After fitting the last set the tyre shop recommended increasing tyre pressures to 36 psi, I was running 32 psi, but the wear pattern has not improved.
I was told it would be a worth increasing pressures to 40 psi,
What do you think ?

being an low profile tyre, you should always have them at 36+ psi

^ Shoulder scrub is the exact reason I despise Toyos. (I have had T1S and the newer T1R). Inside scrub I could live with due to a higher -ve camber, however its interesting the point you make about the outside edge though. Do you have excessive toe-in to make the car lively?

And yeah, 36 is on the money. I run 38 in an 18" (225/40). Have you had an alignment done with printout?

Brent.

I got the wheel alignment checked on the first set and they said it was only a small amount off of standard specs.
the only suspension mods it has is a whiteline 22mm rear sway bar set on the middle hole

Who checked your wheel alignment?...from what you've described there would appear to be a toe issue at the front. 36 psi should be fine for those tyres. I would suggest a visit to Wheels World...
