Not about the wet weather tyres but here's that site I was telling you about that does calculations on speedo effect from changing to bigger rims/tyres than stock:

Been rolling on budget spec Toyo TEO's since December 2008, done about 90,000km so far and they're due for replacement soon. They're good in the dry but very average in the wet.
Kumho KU31's have been on my mind for quite some time now, best price I can seem to find on the Interbutts is ebay: 2 X 205/50/16 87W KUMHO KU31 TYRES BRAND NEW - $279.00 My biggest question is, how long will a set of KU31's last me? I drive ~500km a week with the occasional blat. I want good predictable grip on both wet & dry, the wet season is upon us... but longevity is important and I don't care about road noise from a harder compound haha Also heard good things about these, if anyone has run them and can offer an opinion: - Hankook Ventus S1 Evo (K107) - Bridgestone Potenza RE050A - Toyo Proxes 4 Car is a stock GC8, 205/50/16 and I'd prefer to see change from a thousand bucks. Cheers, Lance

I had some on my GC8 and they were excellent.

Potenza RE050A were excellent tyres but I found their life expectancy a bit short. I got less than 40,000 with mine.

Yeah been reading a few reviews and they don't last as long as I'd like, also appears they aren't available in 205/50/16.

40 000
What type of pussy gets 40 000km from a set of tyres :P I think the rears of my 100 did about 2500 before replacement.

In the same boat now. I bought V6 STi Rims from one of the members here, and they just happened to have almost new Dunlop Sport 3000's on them. These tyres are noisy as hell, have fuck all grip, Ive almost lost it on roundabouts in this recent rain doing 20km/h. They are as bad as Ling Longs..... Turn the wheel on these round-abouts and the car keeps going straight....
Bridgestone Potenza sounds like a good idea to me. Always been a fan of Bridgestone. |

^ I had the same experience with Accelera Alpha, shocking tyres in the wet!
Been quoted $169 per corner fitted for Kuhmo KU31's from a local tyre shop, I'm happy with that
