Default Gearbox oil change

I would like to drain the gearbox oil from a 97 STI and re fill with Redline shock proof oil.
Q * When i take out the large drain plug under the gearbox, does that also drain the front diff ?

Q * Is the front diff a part of the gearbox ?

Q * There is a dip stick on the top area of the gear box. Do I refill through this hole ?

Q * How much oil should it take ?

Sorry if these Q's a a bit basic but WRX mechanicals are new to me.

Thanks

Make sure it give it LOTS of time to drain all the old oil. Redline Shockproof does not mix well with the remnants of the old oil. Ideally Id leave it overnight to drain

as well as this, some ppl recommend to have a little extra oil to 'flush' the oil stuff out

Some people reckon that the redline can congeal and block the galleries in the gearbox as it ages and that it may not be the best suited to a syncro box. I had it and changed to Motul although never had any issues myself.

Would suggest not believing the it will last pretty much forever spin and change it every so often like you would any other oil or after a really hard track session.

I went from some shitty oil to Subaru genuine oil. slight difference, but nothing to get excited over.

Thanks for all the advice.
I've let it drain overnight.
It crunches sometimes on a quick change and a mate had the same prob and the Redline oil seemed to aleviate the problem quite a bit.

Oil is a bandaid fix for rooted sychros.

learn to drive the box properly and it should never crunch.
