Yes a pump and cooler system would be nice but thats a major amount of complexity and expense for a diff cooler, I also don`t feel a cooler alone working on convection would pass enough oil, quickly enough at the right time to do any good.

Ghetto spec yes...its all functionality before beauty, but shit I`ll make the cover out of Ti and catch can out of carbon fibre and layer the area in gold flake if it will stop the polar window licker related comments

And here is the final version....
lol, well something to aspire to compliments Slowboy:

Looks like it has a temperature probe stuck in there as well. I'm not game to ask the price but it's a sexy bit of gear!

What does it do?
Is it just for a gauge, or does it alter output to save the diff?

Back in the early 80's I designed a diff cooler system for heavy haulage trucks. You will require a low pressure, high volume oil pump and an oil cooler with large diameter tubes due to the higher viscosity of gear oil.You would still require the sump mods to increase the oil capacity to compensate for the oil in the cooler system. I would have thought that the extra capacity plus the cooling fins on your current mods would be sufficient to cool your diff without the extra weight/hassles of fitting a cooler.
Also I'm just curious what failures are you having with your diff.

No guage but it has a 'rear diff over temp' light and alters the dccd settings to reduce rear bias.
