Jester: My EBC's never make a peep. They survived Collie & I had a good pedal all day. But I do run slotted & drilled disc's with them. maybe they're noisey with non-slotted discs?

Fobz has the same set up as me and he's never mentioned noise?

I'm down to about 8-9 mm left on them now....Will be going Greens again.

Are you aware that they have changed the compound that's used in the 'Greenstuff' pads 9 times now?

"year 2009 sees the launch of the 9th version of EBC 2000 series Greenstuff which has once again pushed the performance barriers of organic friction materials."

Interesting....

Nah I was unaware. Not really a pad that falls under my radar anymore to be honest. The fact they have changed it 9 times says one of two things, either they are really striving for the best pads, or are really shit at making pads :P wheres the consistency though? you'd hate to buy some 6 months after your first set and they are a completely different compound.

Rossco- 9 times now...? In comparison to other winners that haven't seemed to change their material much at all over the years, gotta wonder if that's good or bad??!

Generally I use DS2500 or Pagid Blue (front). Both are great allrounders and as stated, with the rise in price for Ferodos, Paddy's are a good alternative.
Using Lucas on the rears now and so far am quite impressed.

Most club level (L2) events are seldom multi lap etc and will not see much more than maybe 3 laps at a time so no point in going more exxy IMO (eg- DS3000's)...

I wasn't aware of the changes either, but perhaps the others simply don't disclose if they modify they're compounds or not?

DS 2500's are a good all round pad. Pagid RS4/2 are much better but can be a tad noisy for general road use.
I actually use Pagid RS19's (Brembo) at the moment and they are excellent for track use and not too noisy on the road, but expect to pay $$$ for them.
Rotor wise DBA 5000 if you do a bit of track work, otherwise the 4000 are OK.

A good point. Still begs the question "why" for me though?
Anyhow- that's big Steve, Matt and myself now giving EBC the shizer; be interested in anyone who races regularly that has more positive reports on this particular brand...

+ 1 for QFM A1RM. I use these myself. Also have some mates that have run some long sessions at Sandown with very positive results. Cost effective too. I have been getting these from Trade Brakes in Melbourne.

as matt mentioned, i love the ds3000 + dba5000 combo, they work everytime, only downside is the cost & dust, but thats a good compromise for brakes that work, i wouldnt personally recommend ds2500's to a friend, theyve scared me once too many times to trust them, mind you my ds2500 experience has only been with stock 4 pots/brembos & dba 5000's to make that comparison, they may perform better with a different caliper/rotor combination.

on a side note, EBC's / Dixcel are huge in japan aftermarket, so i would definately be considering one of their top shelf pads if your wanting something reliable/cheaper.
