as far as i know getting the synchros replaced involves taking out the gearbox, which is big money. I was really hoping that it was just links or bushes. I think i will give the redline oil a go and hopefully it feels a bit better for a while. Until i can afford to get the synchro replaced.

Red Line light weight shock proof oil is very good in improving synchro performance if the crunching is not very bad. It may give you a year or so until you have to give the problem any serious attention.

I recommend you use www.performancelub.com to get your Redline oils. Cheapest in Australia even including shipping.

You need 3.7L I think to fill up a 5 speed. So I'd just chuck in 4 Quarts and be done.

Also, you must drain out as much of the old oil as possible as the Redline wont like mixing with the remnants of your old oil still coating the internal walls of the gearbox and the gear. Contamination of the fresh Redline oil will make it go off faster. Let the old oil drain overnight if possible

Cheers for the info i went to auto one and looked at this it was 180 for a 3.7L bottle. Hopefully it will be cheaper on the site you suggested, which one do you reccomend? heavy, lightweight or superlight???
