Isn't that what you pay $400 odd bucks to a mechanic for?

I was thinking more along the lines of UEC, check and tighten/replace belts as necessary, coolant flush, check/replace pads, rotors etc...

If the carbs needed tweaking, surely he'd get Rossco to do it.

haha I actually though you were serious there for a second.

Take it to a mechanic and have it done properly. Being an 05 WRX I am assuming with the amount of km's you've done and your failure to service it. I bet it hasn't had it's 100km service and my guess is the car probably has about 150 on the clock.

It's pretty easy, people will mention upper engine cleaner... But all you need to do is rev the car when cold to its max revs. It will bounce on the limiter which will cause all the crap stuck in the engine and exhaust to be removed out the exhaust. Whilst doing this, quickly sidestep the clutch. If the car grips up it confirms the clutch is adjusted correctly and the plates do not need replacing.

Normally that alone is $200 on my bills and takes all of 1 minute to do.

I did coolant flush 20k ago (just checked Ks on car - I'm at 134k and my last service was 110k (so it is 20k over) and at 90k I got the 100k service done). As I said, this is the first time I have lapsed the servicing, prior to this it was every 7k kms. So quit getting smart, eh?

My pads and rotors do need checking and I did contact Xspeed about this mid September so they could put in coilovers and do my brakes but I haven't heard from them since even after follow ups (their customer service levels have really gone down hill - I used to swear by them).

In between organising my wedding (next week). working and taking a dodgy builder to court (we just won the case a couple of days ago against Kalmar Factory Direct - do NOT use them) I had been run down. I'm doing it today, lay-the-fuck off me.

Never assume unless you're willing to be wrong - as is the case.

I would recommend that you take the car to Maximum Motorsport, STechnic, All Star Garage or RMS...

As I have admitted, not servicing my car is stupid but you don't need to be a #### about it... continually.
