Overheatin question
Have searched and cant find anything relating to my problem as such
Car keeps on overheating... heres what i have checked. - Leaks (there isnt any) - All hoses changed in the last week - Thermostat and housing also changed as the old one didnt open - Checked coolant levels - checked for air leaks and there is none - Done a compression test and engine is all good - Checked for oil in coolant and none. Now here is the other thing. I had my gearbox fixed and got it back last monday and it has only been overheating since then. Never did it before i took it to get fixed. Have also noticed an exhaust leak in my turbo manifold. Looks like it wasnt sealed properly when they put it back on. So now i am questioning whether or not an exhaust leak can cause an overheating problem at all seen as this has only started since the exhaust leak? Thanks guys

Have rang em and they said its not covered under the warranty.
They seem set on the fact there was no exhaust leak. But i havent touched it and it definately wasnt leaking before it got fixed.

Don't think an exhaust leak would cause overheating. Are the fans plugged in? Do they come on and stay on when it gets hot. Does it get hot while sitting and idling, or while driving?

Does this really need to be brought up again?
Marc has quoted Doug's answer. Go get it fixed. Might be better to take it to a mechanic though & not a wrecker. |

Gotta agree with apg39 though. This is the same as the last thread by the OP. Take it to a workshop and get them to look at it.

As mentioned above, I'd definitely take Doug's advice first of all. Besides that, check that the thermo fans have been plugged in, and that they actually turn on when the coolant starts getting too hot.
Do those things first, and if your problem persists post about it again as that will eliminate the two most probable faults and then people won't have a reason to b!tch (otherwise, they will have every right to) And take it to a workshop Adi |
