Bit of a thread revival, but my brakes are shocking. I mean they work well, but the squeal is just too much to bear anymore.
I have the new DBA T3 front rotors, which are pretty new, and the the QFM Street/Track pads. I tend to be a hard braker, but these things are squeal central, to the point where I am about to change the pads, that are about 200k's old. Anyone running this combo and got issues? This is with brembo's. An observation, is that when I went T3's, I had some old pads, which were de-glazed before going in to mate with the new rotors, this is when the sqealing started. These pads were the same pads as the brand new ones I have in now, QFM street/track. So it's either the T3 rotors, the qfm pads, delglazing, or a combination of all? Even when I have got a fair bit of heat in them, they still squeal. On the plus side, my left foot braking has improved drastically throughout all of this. Le sigh. Have you tried putting some anti-seize/copper grease where the pad comes in contact with the caliper? Also putting anti-seize on the backing plates(very thin metal plates that goes on the back of the pad) also help reduce squeal.

Not yet - Just emailed "my guys" to make sure the backing plates are still there. Would be surprised if they were not, but yeah - up for options.
Not keen driving round with glowing red rotors to stop the squeal, somewhat. Even though that is pretty baller. |

Rich - just had mine done. It's all brand new but no squeal.
Dixcel pads, DBA T3 fronts, Brembo rear slotted rotors. Plates from Chaplins USA for $60 all round. Stechnic install, applying grease and making me laugh. All good.

Noise will be from the pads.
I'm guessing they are the QFM A1RM? I'd start by ensuring they are bedded in correctly, have the shim and then maybe trying the grease. Although I haven't had any first hand experience of the grease cutting noise down. Bed in procedure: http://qfm.com.au/userfiles/files/BE...-PROCEDURE.pdf

Yeah, not had an issues with them before.
Saw the bedding into procedure too. Will do a few more hard stops, then if not resolved, new pads. |
