if it was me, i wouldn't bother. Will make it harder to sell if you do upgrade to a wrx or STi later on. What are these cars worth new anyway? Surely you could afford a peanut STi for the price of one of these new! They sure as hell look better than your current model! As well as going better, handling better and stopping better...

your absoulutely right i would love one, but its technically speaking not my car i didnt pay for it, well the majority of it. this is my first car and i will have it for a year or 2. i wouldnt be aloud to sell it if i wanted to until then anyways so im going to do the best with it until then, im not looking for more power i just want a nice sound out of the exhaust, and trust me the exhaust on my car isnt 2.5 inches, both of them are so tiny. and question what is a diffback, is that just a weld on cannon or something from around where the differential sits? i am very interested in getting a wrx but just not yet i want to be able to handle something like that first and im sensible enough to know that a 17 yr old shouldnt be driving a wrx or sti. and why would i sell the car after we just bought it 5 months ago.

Heres the back end of it, you can just see the exhaust pipes

Diff back is as it suggests just a muffler and piping that goes as far as your rear diff.

Pic below is a cat back but take away the straight pipe and your left with a diff back.
