Does this include ceramic coating, it would want to as I've got an account with Kakumei and these at wholesale don't cost much more than the wholesale price of ones I sell and they are from the same factory.
Maybe you could approach ASG about becoming their dealer for headers then? Clearly they are buying them from somewhere that probably charges $700 each set and they are non the wiser.

I would be arguing with Subaru all the way to the top before spending any money if you haven't done it already. There are plenty of examples of this sort of thing happening with no mods.

But the fact that he does have mods that could directly affect the engine, means that Subaru have wiped their hands clean of the problem.

The price difference is possibly due to the fact that ASG are a business... Along with tuning and mechanical work, they on-sell goods from wholesales at an increased price.
Business is about making money, not just flooding the market with super cheap parts.
Although I agree that competition is a great thing for business, under cutting and offering identical parts as close to half the price is not good for anyone.
A once off supplier direct group buy is great, but to offer these same prices to every man and his dog on a daily basis is not benefiting anyone.

That's not a personal attack Wayne. I for one appreciate the products you make available at great prices. Just offering an opinion as to why ASG's products (although the same as what you can source) are higher to Joe Blogs off the street.

In my opinion, if protohoare, or Ballsac or one of many other long term customers went to ASG for prices on the same products, the quote would look remarkably different. Again, in my opinion, this is not a bad thing. Long term customers deserve looking after like this.

I can guarantee I'd pay a shit load more than Ramon for goods/services from MMS

From what I hear all you have to do is sneeze in the car and a 2.5 will fail ?????

"Some say" - stuff what mods take them on because it's a "known" motor of failure.

I agree Matt although it is a shame that "occasional" work means "more expensive".

It's the same everywhere you go though. I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing.
I get cheaper parts and service from Cypher Industries than you would... You know people and can source audio gear/services much cheaper than I could.
The bank your (for example) business has banked with for 20 years will offer you better rates and services than they'd offer me.
It's how it works.

Your wrong there sir. The STI had issues with pistons melting, the WRX's did not. The bearing failure issues are resolved for normal driving, production changes have been in effect since Feb '09. The only way a WRX will melt pistons is by rev limiter action, a poor tune, or too much boost. Under normal driving, it just doesn't happen, or Subaru would be telling us to watch out for it. Also, the STI piston issue's were the '08 models only, eg, the first of the GEN 3 STI's.

If the car was not modded Subaru would have paid no question.
And they're only going to get stricter regarding modified cars and warranty claims

Who the fuck buys a turbo charged all wheel drive car, supposedly "all for the driver" and drives it normally?
