while on the subject, is it worth doing? is it a big job to be done? i drive a 99 rex. heard some good things about doing this mod, it is like a pulley kit but the effects are better i have read. however i think that a pulley kit seems an easier task to perform yourself

heard some issues with stalling and you have to rev higher than usual off the mark. heard also but the idle would have to be adjusted to over come this situation. any information would be helpful, thanks

I find the light flywheel I've fitted with the new motor a complete doddle to get off the mark, the first set of lights I get in the morning (200m from home) stops me on a steep up hill slope...even with cams in it it's piss easy.

my car idles at 850rpm, I simply lift the rpm to 900 & it drives from a stand still like stock.

^ thanks for the info ross, obviously with your engine out its easier to install, however if in my situation my engine is intact, is it a mission to fit?

Its not too difficult if you have the right tools at hand.
Best to do it when your clutch lets go.

I've gone for the Exedy one, made an offer and accepted by the seller. Under $400 AUD delivered.

I'm happy with that!!

Yeah, I saw that.
My point was that they should show a pic of the actual item so you can see if it has dowell holes or not. I think it's slack to show a generic pic of any old flywheel and sell a different item.
