Default No to Dealers

Sorry guys, I continued to have bad experiences with the dealers.
Have been servicing with aftermarket Suby lovers for a year now, the sort that run Suby Rally Cars in their garages.
Very sold on them.
When it is beyond their technical experience, they let me know, and refer me to a specialist.
Can't see a dealer doing that.

AHAHHAHAHAH, although they may be evil, I'm not one to absolutely torture mine, although I do shift reasonably fast...no where near that :P ahah.

So the best places to take it to: are ASG or MMS?

Cheers

I used to have a synchroless (dog) gearbox and I treat the 6 speed with the same contempt... she loves it.

Personally for manual transmissions I would be seeing the chaps at STechnic. It might be a bit of a drive from where you live (Your profile says Hillarys) But I think it will be worth your time. In my opinion Doug knows the insides of a Subaru gearbox better than most in WA

Okay I will book it into STechnic ASAP and update when I figure out whats wrong, me and the old man took it out tonight, so he could diagnose the problem, and he seems to reckon that it's not the clutch, possibly the synchros, and possibly needing new fluid...any recommendations as a conclusion was not drawn about smurf blood and castrol i think it was? :P) cheers

I have exactly the same problem, i ordered redline lightweight shockproof (the blue one) from this site http://www.performancelub.com/Redline%20pricelist.htm you will need 4 bottles, works out heaps cheaper rather than buying locally. Drained all the old oil, and filled up with this stuff. Never had a problem since

You reckon that's the best solution? Thing is, its only when I'm doing "fun driving" to put it frankly, maybe 5000RPM change from 3rd to 4th, so not slaughtering the car, and even slow gear changes result in the same thing, although its not crunching, its not a smooth transition, and it feels like it is "catching" on something on the right hand side of the gearbox :/ so no clue

How much did it end up costing all up?

cheers

Subaru 5 speeds arent something to shift quickly! I would retrain your driving to avoid it! Damage is most likely done.
