Default Push start button

Hey all,

Has anyone installed or have had installed a push start button to start your car?

Whilst only using the key to turn ignition on?

Just looking at feedback as to how much it would cost and if anyone knows how/who would do it?

if you have to use the key anyway and carry the key around why don't you just use the key?

I thought that if it didn't have one stock and one is installed then it can void insurance.

i wouldnt recommend it if you were trying to sell your car.

not to mention, it makes hot wiring cars so much easier. not good for reducing theft.

Alex, GETAGRIP used to have one in his car, it was pretty sweet.

On a side note, my FPV had one and there was nothing like stalling and wrenching the key out of habit for nothing to happen until you quickly remembered to hit the starter button

And race cars.

Got one in black budgie and whilst good for wank factor soon becomes annoying. I guess it's the same kind of thing as an atmo venting bov, not really necessary but good for wank factor.

But hey, it's your car and therefore your choice. As for your question, you can buy kits with all the bits needed, mine is from ignite so google that and you'll be set.

Enjoy

Just have to locate the wiring to the ignition, use a test light and locate the starting wire but as tuna said, makes it a lot easier for someone to steal your car, you've located the wiring for them!!

Plus you will get over it and i don't see the point since you still need your keys to turn ignition on and for steering lock!
