Yep done already, I've set it to 2-3.5ms between 11-14v. That should be in the ball park?

yeah, i personally bump it up just a smidge,
over dwelling does cook the coils a bit, but it'll hopefully make up for slightly tardy packs

by the look of it the loom plugs in at the coil packs, i guess this means the other end was cut from the donor car?

Revs pretty easily and smoothly to 8 now, must say. No stutter, no miss it seems. Thy pesky version 6 is pretty crisp on throttle too. Bloody thing is happy anywhere between 2 and 8k.

Brent.

Yeah...The sub harnesses were from a donor (Rob supplied them with the coils).

Rob had Deutz plugs on the sub harnesses......I 'aint that cool, so I went with the KISS principal.....

previously when setup on the liberty I was using deutsch plugs to connect from the coil loom to the main motec loom on my harness, but since I pulled these out to go to a stronger ignition setup (LS2 Chev Coils) I re-used the deutsch connectors for the new setup, so as supplied to ross with the pins sitting there, he removed them and pinned up some standard narva plugs which are perfectly fine. Main thing is to make sure if you ever buy the coil packs to get the OEM plugs for the coils, the sub loom doesn't make any difference really

Really glad it all helped for Ross's application as I wasn't convinced the coil was the issue, but he has definitely proven it was with doing the conversion having instant results!

Well done on the changeover Ross, as the sub-loom was setup for my car with 4 ignition outputs and Ross has converted it over to run wasted spark for a MY99 ECU. Great job all round dude!

RS Liberty and pre 97 WRX can be easliy set up to use these coils as they have 4 ignition outputs already. You need to delete the ignition module and link the respective inputs to their output wires. It's a fairly straightforward process, simplifies the whole thing and gets rid of the troublesome early coil on plug set up. The late coils do not fit on RS Liberty rocker arm heads though, you need to have at least 94 WRX heads.
