RedMY01Owen, MMS quoed me around $250 for removal of the brant and $400ish for a new system (didn't mention what brand) but that price smacked me round abit.

brett allen - you have just reaffirmed for me that EVERYONE reckons autowatch is the go so i'll definitely go for them when the bastard brant is dead.

06sti cheers for the advice it could potentially save me big dosh tho im hesitant to try fiddle with shit i know nothing about..... time to get some my04 manuals out haha

I've PMed Mao. Apparently he can repair it cheaply?!!?

Oh yeah, sorry, I should have clarified, that was for Macey to remove the Brant and supply and install an Autowatch system.

There is a good thread on Rexnet about repairing the Brant system with a soldering iron. While this works in some cases, it didn't in mine, apparently the fault is either keypad related or in the soldering on the mainboard.

Probably still worth having a workshop checking out if it actually is the alarm causing the issue. Would hate to do all this and find it is something else still!

Yeah, get Mao to have a look before you get it pulled out, he'll probably be able to sort it out with a soldering iron.

If the problem began with this warm weather i would defiantly try soldering first. As the higher temp in the cab after the car a been parked for a while causes the the joints on the PCB to open circuit.
