Question fuel pump not firing after battery disconnected

Howdy

I've read every link and forum i could trying to fix this but to no avail....

2003 wrx, tried to start after putting new motor in, mechanically seems good.
No fuel pump kicking in noise, nor is there a drop of fuel in hoses
Found the relay i think under passenger side kick panel (brown) ? It has a live 12v feed and earth, but no switching power shows up when you crank motor. Also im gettin no power at all at the fuel pump end of the harness

Tried jumping terminals as per another link on rexnet on the Brant solders etc which alot of people seem to have had success with, to no avail.

If anyone has any hints, im tempted to buy a new fuel relay but if its not receiving switching power when ignition on then im not sure its that.

Is there anyone on here who is familiar with the brant system ? as i willl happily f#&k it off if theres as many problems as i read?

Cheers fellas

Dude,

Look me up when you have the time, will disconnect the fuel bypass side of the brant for u. will take me 5 mins to get u out of trouble if the problem is the Brant.

If you need help let me know (no charge, just doing my forum bit), will be able to drop by before 11am (as long as you are in the metro area) after that i will be bz all Sunday.

Regards,
Mao/ Evolution R

Brant may need to have mastercode inputted to reset it once battery has been disconnected.

Ok, thanks for the reply, so is it a definate that you have to recode these things after battery being out? im guessing its the same as unplugging the brant module really, needs to be reset?
Just dont wanna spend all day today hunting a gremelin that may not exist if its just a case of getting brant reset.
From your experience is this something you can get from subaru (for a fee im guessing) or do they make you tow it there?

Thanks

Glad I was able to help and you've got your car going. A little win for me too as I hate the fact that ppl have to pay all that money for a simple problem.

From here, you dont have to remove the Brant as the starter immobilsation of the Brant is still working through the main unit. It is only the secondary fuel unit of the Brant that is bypassed. It is also good to bypass this unit, as the ecu should not have been tampered with by the Brant in the first place which can cause lean mixtures and damage the engine. Always suspected this but will prove it when the time comes.

Default Big Thanks to Mao, and MY00GC8

Cheers fellas for your time taken to help me today, is exactly what these forums are about.

I bypassed the alarm where it had cut into the ecu cables, and the fuel pump turned on, car started straight away.... good idea Mao

Will speak to you tomorrow still MY00GC8

Thanks again guys
