Throttle response and Lag are very different things.
So would you say going from vacuum to boost is lag, throttle response or a combination of both?

Agree with what you're saying though.

What power did you get?

I based this on an old Obsidian Black 05 STI previously owned by another member(whom the name I cant remember atm) on here but it had a blouch td06 with process west fmic, decaps, headers and verso or autronics.
Pretty sure he now owns a R34 GTR NUR...I may be wrong tho.

here is the current owner

Russ, where do you get this info that throttle response is not turbo lag? This is the first I've come across it. I've always thought of 'turbo lag' or 'lag' to be the time from wanting a certain output to receiving the output (same for the lag loading an internet page).

I hate to quote wikipedia, but even they have it defined that way. Turbocharger - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Curious as I know what you are saying, but thought the general concensus was that was all labeled under lag.

Edit: Also noticed some other places define it as the response when the throttle is opened when not operating in a vacuum. So again, a slightly different definition.

FMiC 'unsure of brand came with the car, piping isnt excessive imo';
ID1,000 Injectors;
ECUTEK;
3inch Exhaust; and

On a bed of EJ207

I still need to take the car back to MMS but as it stands from memory 280ish HP.

To me, that seems very low for a TD06 and 272 combo.
My same setup made 320hp at 18psi.

Will confirm the actual figure when I get home tonight.

There are still some teething issues I'm ironing out though.

Extremely low power! can get 280hp with a much smaller turbo and standard cams.

John: Longer piping increases throttle response time. More time to fill pipes etc when off boost. But lag from low revs is determined by the size of the turbo. Bigger the turbo the more air the motor needs to pump to increase shaft speed of the turbo. Its all in the interpretation as some people call lag any time delay between hitting throttle to positive peak boost which is attributed to every variable not just turbo or intercooler.
