Default weird suction sound / intercooler / throttle body /engine stumbling

hey guys,

need some quick serious advice,

ive been in the driveway fixing tyhe car all weekend.

problem - friday night the T-piece connecting my vacuum /boost guage to manifold split in half. so the car was running extremely rough when it turned on.i re routed it and ran no guage- the car is fine. bought new $4 part and repaced it all back together - no issues until now.

current problem. coming home on reid HWy i noticed the car was rev limiting out at 4500rpm and boost was on off on off...like shuttering or surging. my guage is needle is moving about 1mm in the vacuum area off it mark in idle...i sence no issue.

i try reving it again to see if it will go... same issue. there is a loud blow off sound coming from the area...but while im reving out not off throttle...
checked the hoses and cant see any issues. checked my MAF looks clean as a whistle... car sound like a hoover vacuum from the left sound and still wont go above about 5000rpm... no smoke at all either.

new mods within the past month - PW tmic andKN pod filter instead of hyperflow...both oiled.

ive ran out of trouble shooting ideas i need help please.

ALSO - my check engine light came on with my cruise control light flashing...checked manual - ) return to subaru) turned on off car 4 times and now its gone.

all my hoses seem in tact from touch and sight.

any ideas on the sound and any ideas on whats happening with possibly turbo or computer.

i fly back to work tomorow so i have tonight and tomorow day to fix it.

thanks

How long have you had the intercooler and (oiled?!) CAI on for? You've gotten a tune for these items right?

Curious; how come you went for an oiled filter?

Mattuz - thanks heaps mate - ive PM'd you.

Rossco - pretty much on the money but different hose setup for me.

Trolley - MMS do alot of Hyperflow products and this is what steve recommended to me at the time as i requested a CAI...i was always under the impression that the MAf can get dirty from the oil.. but he said otherwise. i always still practise in cleaning it when i check... im now running a K&N 6" Pod - the hyperflow was of age and had dirt in it. The K&N seems to be noticably more responsive and the engine runs smoother at idle and at high revs you can intake noise alot more (my preference).

thanks all

This.

A hose is not on properly or clamped properly. Check them all.

Interesting, I intentionally went an AEM CAI to avoid an oiled filter.

Glad to hear you got the problem sorted. Sounds like you need a stroke of luck in that car!
