i would just get normal clear bulbs, i changed them in my silvia(when i had one) and it made a massive difference. personally i would stay away from coloured stuff. just gives cops more of a reason to bend you over. but thats just my opinion

As you have a grab kit, and its easy to get to the bulbs, (apparently) try the different colours including white as see what you think. (I would try blue but it would depend on how that affects the colours on the dash, red and blue might make cadbury purple?)

The grab kit is full of twist in globes with plastic bases, the ones in the rex are wedgies + I left it at work

Ok, then the grab kit may become a bit of plastic hose with a slit in it, and the i.d. just smaller than the diameter of the globe, if they're hard to remove, something we use at work to remove small bulbs in tights spots on the ACBs, but doubt it would be needed here.

Not sure what the clear globes cost, but you could always use a marker pen to colour the outside of the globe, and achieve a colour, use the appropriate thinner to clean the globe and try another colour.

Something seams to be blocking it, the globes i pulled out are like 3 or 4mm than your standard T5 wedge globe is...
But the globe that came out isnt available aftermarket, so i might get some from subaru tomorra and try them out

If you have an aftermarket dash/dial cover I'm pretty sure or would be blocking the light. But yes get some genuine bulbs and see how you go

from my thread, you pay a premium for "genuine" globes;

"FYI You pay a premium for the normal bulbs from Subaru primarily due to the badge on the box.

They're normally just Hella Globes."
