after all the hot days, i'd say the injectors need a love tap to get them opening again.

it will not be a problem with your fuel reg.

I wonder if it could be the same prob as I had with a mates RS lib. The hose that joins the fuel pump to its cradle inside the tank had swollen and allowed the pump to break free. All I needed to fix it was about 40mm of fuel hose.

Could also be the seals on the fuel pump drying up and sucking in air instead of fuel

I just wanted to update this... it was the fuel pump. replaced it today... new pump is really loud... The same walbro in my other WRX isn't as loud... The old pump was really stuffed up.. had like rust all over it and a werid white "paste" on everthing else.. I should upload a pic..

Not looking good at all. I wouldn't be surprised if your car didn't take a swim in the ocean at some stage.
