Yes I understand that mate. Cheers tho.
Invoking the statutory warrantee, as it is legislation, may encourage them to act more so than the manufacturers warrantee. Hopefully they will decide to fix the problem, as opposed to dealing with the regulatory body....that I will approach...after I determine it actually is an isolated fault of course. Not that I'm disregarding the helpful input provided so far, in all the posts above...still have to confirm it for myself though. |

Oh btw,
The statutory warrantee is 3 months from the date of purchase...for this car. Based on the year of manufacture and Km's. There are of conditions where the statutory warrantee is less based on vehicle age and Km's. FYI see the link .. Used vehicle (statutory) warranties - Consumer Protection - Department of Commerce |

I think you'll find that stat warranty is for items deemed to make the car unroadworthy or mechanically unsound.
Overall performance of the vehicle as decided by you the consumer does not fit the requirements. If it is still in new car warranty then take it to Melville Subaru and make sure it is lodged with Subaru Australia in writing so once the warranty period is over and they still haven't fixed it you have recourse (assuming there actually is a problem) using the Perth-WRX mobile app

G,day mate. Did you buy this car used? I ask this because it shouldn't be having this issue due to the age of the car. Unless has it been in an accident or the system didn't get enough compressor oil from new? A/C gas pressure may be too low or too high. It may have a faulty valve or minor leak? I'd advise taking it to an auto electrician,A/C specialist ask for the following. Vent outlet temp test. Leak test. And compressor check. Check and record high/low temps and pressures. Evac the system for 1 hr. Check vacuum leaks over 20mins. If all checks out and after necessary repairs made, top up compressor with 30ml of recommended oil. And regas the system via head pressure not capacity. Good luck mate.

Thanks a lot stealth....that's a very informative post, I really appreciate it..
Yes I'm the second owner..bought from a Subi dealer. It is still under new car warrantee .... and then has a year of Subaru Assured Warrantee. I was planning on doing that exact thing if all else fails...but I wouldn't know where to start... Now though I can up skill....well up jargon at least...and go in with a bit of an idea. Scary....thanks for that....I see what you mean. I'll look into it further.... I've heard a couple of good things about Melville Subi already...just at random from searching posts...even one on true local or another business directory....slayed another Subi dealer for a reason I'll not mention but said Melville Subi were great guys.... Is it general consensus that these the are best Subi dealers to deal with?... Last edited by Rexit; 20-02-2014 at 01:49 PM. |

Haha to trueee..
I stand corrected. Exert taken from public.wsu.edu "...people often misspell the related word “warrantee” rather than the correct “warranty.” “Warrantee” is a rare legal term that means “the person to whom a warrant is made.” Although “guarantee” can be a verb (“we guarantee your satisfaction”), “warranty” is not. The rarely used verb form is “to warrant.” warrantee/warranty Last edited by Rexit; 20-02-2014 at 03:00 PM. |
