The problem with your opinions RJ, is that too often they don't have any sound background or experience/knowledge. One set of photos is from a camera phone, the other a catalogue entry, as XT said. That alone is not even close to being enough for a solid comparison. Secondly, you have many times over shown you don't really have the knowledge to make such claims, and yet you continue to and call it an 'opinion' when it is no more than a wild ass guess.

Now don't take this as a snide remark towards you, simply that if you, or anyone else for that matter doesn't know something, don't offer wild advice or opinions as it only convolutes a thread with misinformation.

As a comparison - this is a custom made dump pipe on my car. The maker is well regarded. This is ceramic coated inside and out. I think it looks like a piece of art.

Whilst I can appreciate that there is performance gains to be made in bell housing design I would suggest that a lot more is to be gained by having a big arse catalytic convertor not holding things up.

USA Dave knows all about that issue

Hey GTB do you mind telling who made your pipe?...

The Butler I've got has a large cat too but right at the back of the dump pipe..

I'm happy if this thread spears off topic into general dump performance and comparisons.

Though still open for opinions on the butler pipe as shown...

Michael May now running his operation as Garage88 out of Sydney. He's Phatman on Liberty ASN.

He does have the ability to have the equivalent dump pipes made for WRXs. Best to contact him directly.

Mine was $900 in a group buy but that was years ago.

Just confirmed, yes it was a Michael May special. Original build spec.

Mine must have been build spec greater than 2.0

And is it worth while to de-burr all the rough spots in general.
Probably make 1/100th of a kw increase, ring up Norm Butler and let him know about your concerns... I'm sure he'll be interested in giving you a good explanation.
