When you out it like that, doesn't sound like it belongs on a car.

Catalytic Converter.

My understanding is the split bell housing design keeps the waste gate gases disturbing the turbine exhaust gases at high rpm.

The Butler venturi splitter system has been around for a long time and it works (if it ain't broke don't fix it)...if you want a critique talk to Rob Herridge or Leigh Hynes..

Also RJ - Norms housing and splitter is hand made as nauli stated above. His exhausts are not mass produced by machines/robots/cutters so inherently it's not going to look as "pretty". Norms splitters may not be a thick wall of stainless steel but it does the same job.

Yes it makes sense now that you mention this...
Norm does great work for everyone I know and even I was looking at getting one for mine when I was still looking but then decided on something else based on decibels. I only hear top notch customer feedback for him and this is rare in today's market, means his products are 1st class

I certainly understand and respect the whole hand built and it just works idea.

And I can appreciate the delayed waste gate opening theory....

But...with the rough edges as seen on my dump pipe...

Doesn't this contradict the theory behind port and polishing, in order to ensure minimal disruption on gas flow??

How many of you guys idolising your butler exhausts actually put them on yourself?......

And if so were you happy with the quality of the fabrication?.

Now I will be cleaning it up before it goes on....

But that's not the point is it?...

I'm not trolling or trying to dis a mans honest hard work but is it a case of 'the emperors new clothes'?

Are butlers exhaust the 'event horizon' of the Perth performance car scene?

Edited.....due to pointless repetition.

I can't see what you're on about in terms of rough fabrication?

Maybe have a look at other options and then compare. Check the HKS jobbie I had, your butler splitter looks cleaner
