Just a hint tho - the dealership extended warranties are usually not worth the paper they are printed on. I say this because i worked for a dealership for 3 years.

Oh, I have the booklet and he has given me a week to come back and pay for whichever warranty I want. Its not through him, its a warranty company. Should I pass on it?

Ockhams razor.

Acceleration issue probably AFM.
Oil issue probably burning off oil residue left during oil change.

Pass pass pass.

GD air flow meters rarely fail so I doubt its your issue either.

Idle issue could be something as simple as the fans cutting in and out, it happens on mine but then again that's been played with.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE EXTRA WARRANTY"

All non wear and tear items are covered under the 3 month statuary warranty.

Before the warranty expired I had my mechanic perform a full service. If he found any warranty items then the dealership would have to fix them. Drive your car a little bit harder than you normal would, test everything out make sure its good during that time.

The extended warranty is no good, too many exclusions and you usually have to service the car at the dealership and the service cost is inflated.

Stop trolling! Ah who am I kidding, what else do i expect. Though if you read earlier posts I clarified I didnt buy it in terms of payment. Ive just secured one if I choose to buy it in the next week. Which it sounds like I shouldn't and wont do. I know you just care :-)

Not trolling, just being blunt. I'm just stupidly cautious and pessimistic and would personally never buy from a dealer without a decent independent check unless the car came with a new car warranty (ie. new car or ex-demo).

For the record I do care! Despite me thinking it would be silly to commit to the purchase without a proper looking over, I'd still feel bad for you if it turned out to be a spud.

Any reason why you didn't think of taking it to STechnic/MMS/All Star, et al for a check?
