Considered adding a centre muffler to the existing exhaust?

I have a 3" turbo back Hitech exhaust with just a cat and flex bit with oval muffler, the oval muffler gives it a good tone while projecting the sound out the back so the cabin noise isn't too loud... maybe try the oval mufflers?

Hey mate... i have a Hitech 3" tbe exhaust that is a little quiet for me. These are worth a pretty penny. I would be keen to swap for a louder one.
Could you PM me a link to a video so i could hear it please?

Hi Brett. Any ideas on where I could pick one up from? I've got noise issues like the OP.
Cheers

This is true. i paid for a brand new one which isnt cheap but the sound out of them is pretty good. Virtually silent at cruise speed but hit the loud pedal and they still make enough sound to keep you happy.

Varex - best of both worlds.

+1. I have a varex on my gc8 and it is brilliant. Quieter than stock when valve is closed, loud and rumbly when valve is open. Also helps to not piss off the neighbours if you start work early/late but allows you to enjoy the boxer sound when you like too.

+1 for Varex. I had an oval Varex muffler on my '06 and it was great (silent when closed, great note when open). See here: https://youtu.be/7IXrLqesZfI
