All these people talking about their new found fitness, anyone thinking of participating in the City to Surf?

So far I've been lifting 4 times a week and getting some decent strength gains. Havent been walking much more, still drinking too much but diet is better. Just started adding a bit of running after the gym so see how that goes. Body shape has changed but still pudgy around the gut/love handle area. Happy with the improvements in the gym though.

I am signed up for city to surf and western mud rush - currently doing couch to 10km.
If my knees can hold out I'll do it.

If anyone has tips or solutions to bad knees for running let me know or at least tell me it gets better!

I life 4 times a week also, I try and get minimum 20 mins cardio in after every workout, and "occasionally" i might go to the gym on an off day to do some cardio if I feel motivated haha.

I played a 40 min game of basketball, then went to gym, 30 min of cardio then 20 min of weights.

Tomorrow 1 hour pt at 7, then a game at 9... oh shit

Cycling!! I tore my medial ligament last year and cycling was easily the best for strengthening my knee(s) again. I also find that Jacobs ladder (ie-stair climbing) is really good as well, although I wouldn't recommend this until doing a bit of riding first as going down the stairs can be quite stressful on your joints.

p.s- not sure why I am giving you tips, the mud-rush was fully booked by the time I heard about it so if your knees go maybe I could take your spot?? haha

Last night I came within 18 seconds of accomplishing my goal time for my Jacobs ladder routine and in doing so broke my previous best by over a minute! Also it's good to see that 6 months post "new year's resolution" time yet lots of people are still sticking at it
