TJ, the more muscle you have the more energy you will burn.

I'm trying to do a bulk, cut and improve at fitness at the same time.

I find it best for me to get an all in one powder with high protein, BCAA's, Glutamine and other bit n pieces for post work out and just before bed.

I get my Creatine from my pre-workout drink which is NO explode at the moment.

The whole point of 5 or 6 smaller meals throughout the day is so your body doesn't go into fat storing mode and so your body doesn't consume your muscle (catabolic state) for energy. The reason you should have a slow release protein shake prior to bed.

All too confusing for me too but this is currently working for me.

I cant do the whole 6 meals a day thing due to my diabetes. 3 a day with a small snack before the final shot at night is what Im sposed to do, but I dont want to eat at night before sleeping so thats gay.

So I need to look at other methods.

Mate im not sure you can bulk and cut at the same time... you can increase fitness and bulk, by running a certain amount each day but... bulk and cut are two totally different things.

I assume you know what both things are... and that you cant bulk without putting on a bit of fat, unless it was a super clean bulk and you remain around the 10%BF but that would takes ages..

TJ what are you eating for dinner? Its gay but no carbs at night is the go if your trying to drop kg's.. Fish and salad works, chicken breast also..

And if you get a low carb protien powder you could use that throughout the day or replace meals with it.. but whole foods are better.

Yeah I know mate, that why I said I was 'trying' do both. I'm def putting on Muscle and loosing fat. Not ideal but I've turned a leaf this year after a few of neglect so its all good.

Will probably try and do it properly next year. I'd look funny this year if I was just concentrating on the cut leading in to summer so a bit of both is what I'm needing.

Well there is two types of carbs, complex carbs and simple carbs.

Cant say which foods contain those, but google may help :S

What im saying is if you get the good kind of carbs to help you take in the insulin then you might have a win...
