Beer does substitute for a nightly meal. Eat no breakfast then have a sandwich for lunch then in the arvo if your hungry snack on some jerky with a few beers then don't eat dinner.

alcohol is fine, in small doses, and as long as you drink "light spirits" ie: vodka etc... but they recommend, only drink if you really have to. Beer is so high in carbs its not funny, and will always cause you to gain weight.. if you have to drink beer, try pure blonde (low carbs)

Alcohol is where the calories come from in alcohol drinks, inc beer, not the rest of the stuff. 1 gram of protein and carbs = 4 calories, 1 gram of alcohol = 7 calories, 1 gram of fat = 9 calories.

The difference between a low carb beer like Pure Blonde and a normal beer is stuff all, about 20 calories.

FYI Pure Blonde
88% of calories from Alcohol, 12% from Carbs, total 107 calories
Tooheys Extra Dry
74% and 26% respectively, total 131 calories

A 30 ml vodka and water with a bit of lime juice is about 70-80 calories for reference.

My work at the moment is doing a biggest looser program, where you weight in every monday and you go to the work gym supplied by owner and who ever looses the most weight after 2 months gets $500 bucks cash and a smaller stomach. Starts of easy but now its friggen hectic and after 2 weeks I have lost 4 kilos and its an excellent modivation when your work mates get on your back for not turning up

Similar shit happening with me.

Weigh in is tomorrow for me .. Gymmed it 5 times this week, 1 hour sessions. 80% cardio, 20 weights. Hopefully i've lost another 1kg.

There was a dude at work who lost 5.4Kg in one week!! I was like, what the fuck man. He reckoned he gymed it twice a day and had some crazy diet. This guy is apparently ex-navy and is one hardcore dude.

Ive just joined a gym myself about a month or so ago.

Ive been going 5 times a week late at night (after shop hours) for an hour at a time.

Do 15 mins on eliptical trainer.

15 mins on rower.

30 mins weights. doing 3 x 10 reps for each upper body muscle group.

Have cut back my diet a lot. I already ate fairly healthy foods but probably too much of them. Started at 110kg. Want to get down to 90kg.

Simons whole system is awesome... until your diabetic and you need to have carbs with every meal or risk passing out from a hypo....

not bombed.

Creatine will not make you diabetic unless your mixing nuclear refuse with it.

I have a plan, just need to stick to it.

Day 2 so far, and my will power remains. I wish everyone the best of luck, and Jester, you might think your being funny, but that really is a c*nt of a post - could well do more damage then good.
