i got flashed about 4 times in a year and just lost my license

can they really detect that far?
i have the escort passport 8500 x50...claim to be better bel pro rx65.
but it can only detect camera hidden in the bushes only from abt 50 m away.
any rx65 owners experience this or i m the one with the lousy detector?

how long till u get it back? because i m almost there.

thats half a radar detector worth of fine..

wai, my xr950 is the australian version of the RX65(only difference is mine does SWS warnings) and its picked them up from well over 50metres away.

its well worth it, i bought one after ~$1650 in fines, and a loss of license :|

sorry, noob question, but whats SWS warning and may i ask how much you got it for?

RX65 has SWS as well (i know cause i used to have one)

SWS is just road warning such as roadside works or ambulance.......... handy if you always have music on loud and can't hear the ambos half the time

I drove round with a 990i, RX65 & X50 on the windshield for about a month to compare. Whenever I encounted a Multanova I would circle past and try approaching in different lanes, with 2 detectors turned off, etc etc to try many different combinations. Range on the cameras was anywhere from 30m to 400m, it just depends on things like how the camera is placed, other traffic, the amount of charge the Multanova battery has left - things like that. I have found however, that the X50 def has better range on both K and Ka bands. But I do like the Bel talking to me when ambos are coming / road works etc. If you only got 50m warning, it was prob just unlucky that time, or slim chance, a faulty unit.

heh.. no idea what the difference between the RX65/XR950 is then, probably just the label :P
