WA has no anti-radar detector laws in the road traffic act (which includes all "speed evasion articles". Other states, well it depends on the wording. Some clarify with the words "jam or attempt to jam". Some only say "radar detector" - so there is nothing in there about laser jamming.

Meh... Just obey the road rules and pay lots of attention while driving around the "suburbs" and save the lead foot for places that are safe and sensible

Right time, right place often saves plenty of licenses...

Range on the cameras was anywhere from 30m to 400m, it just depends on things like how the camera is placed, other traffic, the amount of charge the Multanova battery has left - things like that. I have found however, that the X50 def has better range on both K and Ka bands. But I do like the Bel talking to me when ambos are coming / road works etc. If you only got 50m warning, it was prob just unlucky that time, or slim chance, a faulty unit.

faulty unit? won't fault units pick up nothing?
the thing is, with k band from roadworks, etc.. it picks up from far abot 200m away from low signal strength alert. but with the Multanova that are hidden in the bushes is picks up when the signal strength is abt 90%. where is going beeping constantly. but from thoses Multanova that are out in the open like in front of a bus stop, it picks up from about a good 200m away.
is this normal?

sometimes faulty unit only pickup signals from short range only (faulty means half broken sometimes)

when runing back and forward to perth (do 50,000ks plus a year), its only advisable to speed with any detector behind a rabbit, because they get nabbed first, these new k band mobile units are virtually instant and they dont bounce around as much as the old unit did, must have a very narrow beam.. i usually sit on 118ks and they usually leave me alone, unless i tack in behind a rabbit and use him for bait.......the cameras in perth are shit got nailed the other day just before the race course on the farmer hwy, was a bit slow on the brake, i use a bel980, it depend upon the angle they set the camera up facing down the road on how much lead up time you get before you get your picture taken...a door opener can get in 12volts plus in the same frequecy, i was advised that this may distrupt the signal, acccording to the guru radar boys at the spy base out of geraldton, as radar pulse out, but has a very sensitive reciever, door opener operates a continouse pulse, that may disrupt the radar units reciever, thus jaming the reading......food for thought.......

indeed it is.. and when you re-sit the test, if you pass, you go back onto your p's where you left off.

BUT...

if you fail, you start your learners/p plates, etc alllll over again.

DONT FAIL!(or dont lose any more points!)

thank god i passed :P

Then i don't get it. If it only picks up the hand held when it's pointing at your number plate, isn't it already too late to slow down? Wouldn't that mean the copper already got your speed?

Please explain
